A few months ago, I reached out to Jenn to assist one of our community members whose family member is a student in a special needs school and had a serious problem that was not being addressed by the school system. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the matter, someone familiar with the educational system was critical, but someone who had experience and trust within the Indigenous community was even more important. Jenn answered our questions and provided the direction needed for me to feel confident entrusting our community member to her care. Awareness of the historical, legal, and cultural experiences of Indigenous people is a must when I am seeking resources for our community, making Jenn a rare find.
